How to build tables with arrows quickly in Tableau Desktop

We are going to use a couple of features in Tableau like:

  • The difference using quick Table Calculation
  • Formats to avoid Shape images and add extra columns
  • Index to hide dynamic the first year
  • Custom format to make the previous left table
  • Text formats to make the right table

First, we are going to build the next table.

Connect to Superstore Data Source from Tableau Desktop:

Hide the Title and drag & drop: Sales, Order Date by Year, Category and Sub-Category

Drag & drop the fields to Columns, Rows, and Text Mark

Do a right-click on SUM(Sales) and select Quick Table Calculation, Difference.
